Origin of the Anima - Originally planned to be a collaboration with SF, the Anima has gone through multiple prototypes and names in the past few years to reach its current form. The project of making this yoyo first began in 2019 a bit after Remy joined SF - part of his sponsorship deal was learning CAD from SF - and this was his first real venture into designing yoyos. Remy set out to make something casual and fun to launch his own brand, and those intentions largely remained the same despite the circumstances of the release changing. Remy continued to prototype and refine the model after SF had decided to take a break, and eventually settled on a final design and the concept for Dis and the Anima.

Design notes - the Anima is a mixed bag of a yoyo. It has some design characteristics geared towards performance, such as it’s width and more rim weighted distribution of mass; and other aspects oriented towards creating a unique feeling and aesthetic. The Anima has slew of direct design inspirations - it’s based off some of Remy’s favorite yoyos such as the Turning Point 2, UNPRLD Sucction, YYF 2009/10 Severe, and CLYW Akita - which influenced different parts of the design. This general mix of desired outcomes and inspirations has lead to what we believe is a pretty peculiar yoyo well worth a try.

Disclaimers - Raw cap and raw body editions may have some small cosmetic marks, and more marks can develop with use. There is a thin protective coating on the raw aluminum to prevent deterioration, but it was purposefully kept minimal to keep the feel of the yoyo unaltered. If this is something that bothers you, we would recommend a fully polished or blasted color. The Anima is made with two pieces of aluminum that are press fit together in a similar fashion to any normal bimetal yoyo - due to this the Anima can develop vibe more easily than a mono-metal yoyo when damaged. Please handle with care - we do not accept returns for products that are damaged from use after purchase.
